Tanaja's fundraiser for Care for the Homeless

I am a senior at Democracy Prep Harlem High School, who is working to be a positive change agent in this current world. My senior year Change The World Project is looking at the prevailing issue of mental illness in the homeless community.  My Change The World project reflects how mental illnesses in the homeless community is rampant and this is significantly due to governmental lack of support and resources that the homeless have access to. The current system is not supporting and producing results in the immense manner it could be and i believe people, agencies and the government, as a while should be more intensely focused on increasing effective solutions and supports such as housing, medical and mental health treatments, treatment centers, job training, donations, and more intentional mental health training for staff, although there are many more that can be of benefit.


I am a strong believer that Mental health is a one of the leading contributors to the pandemic of homelessness. I believe through becoming more informed and learning more about the stigma behind the terms "mental illnesses" and "homelessness" we can work towards actually finding solutions to solve this issue. 


I am setting up this GoFundMe page as a foundation to allow people to give support, raise money and assist in the cause to help organizations dedicated to the issue of homelessness and mental health can work towards providing some of the necessary services to these individuals.


I am raising money to support the organization, Care for the Homeless, who are supporting and making an impact in homelessness, inclusive of the impact that mental health has on homelessness. I believe any donation will be a change agent to this issue and will be impactful in ending homelessness, but in assisting those suffering with mental illness in this community with obtaining the necessary support and services on a higher scale. Your donations to this cause will mean so much to me and more importantly to the homeless. All money will be donated to Care for the Homeless.
