Support for Brooke, Joe & Baby Eleanor

We are reaching out to you on behalf of a beautiful young family going through an unthinkable tragedy.

My niece, Brooke, is just 33 years old and recently experienced a devastating medical emergency. She gave birth to her beautiful daughter, Eleanor, in mid-August, Brooke suffered a horrific accident the same day and has been in a coma ever since.

Brooke was over the moon to be Eleanor’s mom. She dreamed of this moment, planned every detail, and was ready to give her whole heart to her little girl.

Who is Brooke?

Brooke is one of the kindest, most thoughtful souls you could ever meet. A proud graduate of Homestead High School in Fort Wayne, she went on to attend the University of Saint Francis, where she not only excelled academically but also met the love of her life, Joe. Together, they pursued their dreams and earned doctorates through a unique opportunity at Notre Dame.

They married in June 2016 and have been inseparable ever since—best friends and soulmates who loved beach trips to Florida, cheering on Notre Dame football, and simply doing life together.

Brooke is a devoted wife, daughter, sister, granddaughter and friend—and she’s also been the best dog mom to their two beloved pups, Rockne and Demo, who were her first babies before Eleanor arrived.

Brooke is deeply family-oriented. She returned to Fort Wayne to be closer to her loving parents, siblings, and in-laws as she prepared to start a family of her own. Just recently, she helped throw her sister Nicole’s bridal shower, making sure every detail was perfect because that’s who Brooke is - always thinking of others first.

Her relationship with her brother Alex and his fiancée Janet is just one example of how loving and inclusive she is. Brooke is the glue in so many relationships, always bringing people together with her warmth.

Why We Need Your Help:

The past month has been a blur for everyone who loves Brooke. While she continues to fight for her life, her husband Joe is caring for their newborn daughter, Eleanor—facing unimaginable stress, heartbreak, and financial strain.

Joe and family are doing everything they can for Eleanor, all while navigating the emotional weight of watching her in a coma. Medical bills are coming in daily and baby’s care doesn’t stop. The uncertainty of the future is overwhelming.
