My name is Katelyn, and I am Hayleigh, Madison, and Logan’s aunt. I created this GoFundMe alongside my father, Peter Young, the children’s grandfather, to help support them during this unimaginable time following the sudden loss of their mother.

Early Monday morning, our family suffered a heartbreaking loss. Brittany Islami, the mother of my two nieces and nephew was tragically killed when the motorcycle she was riding as a passenger was involved in a head-on collision with a motor vehicle.

Her three children—Hayleigh (12), Madison (10), and Logan (7)—were the center of her world. They are now facing the unimaginable loss of their mother while their family works to navigate this difficult new reality.

We also keep Officer Whiteside's family in our prayers as they mourn the heartbreaking loss of Cooper. He was deeply loved and cherished by many, and his absence will be felt by all who knew him.
