Brady Hood was a devoted father, husband & grandfather who meant the world to his family. Just a few months ago, he was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic colon and liver cancer, and despite his strength and love for life, he passed away far too soon. Brady spent his life as a farmer and rancher, always working hard to provide for his loved ones. He also earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting, showing his dedication to learning and providing for his family. Brady was a passionate Kansas Jayhawks basketball fan, never missing a chance to cheer for his team. More than anything, Brady cherished his family—his long-time partner of 19 years, Kimberly, and their four children: Kevin Hunter, a high school senior about to turn 18; Cheyenne, a 15-year-old freshman with special needs who bravely faces a seizure disorder and mental disability; Mariah, age 11, who brightens the family as a sixth grader; and Aryanna, the youngest at 10, who is in fifth grade. He also had 2 older boys that are now adults, Brady & Bryce Hood and 5 very loved grandkids.
Brady’s love for his children was always clear. He loved hugging and rocking them as babies, and even as they grew older, he still called them his babies. Each child had a special nickname: Kevin Hunter was his Bubba and his buddy, always by his side to watch sports and play basketball together. Cheyenne was his Sissy, Mariah his Sunflower, and Aryanna his Pun-Kin. These small moments and loving words are memories the family will always hold close.
Now, as Kimberly and the children face the difficult road ahead, they are left with significant outstanding medical bills, cremation costs, and ongoing household expenses. The support from friends, family, and the community means everything to them during this heartbreaking time. Any contribution will help ease the financial burden and allow the family to focus on healing and remembering Brady’s legacy. Kimberly is deeply grateful for every thought, prayer, and act of kindness, and she doesn’t know what she would do without the love and support surrounding her family.
