On October 28, 2021 Kimberly Beck suffered a medical emergency while at work, resulting in her being transported to the hospital. When she arrived to the hospital, the magnitude of the emergency was evident; mom and baby's lives were danger. Brinley Beck was urgently delivered and rushed to the NICU, where medical professionals worked to clear her lungs and stabilize her heart. Brinley's condition was critical, so she was placed in a hypothermic state to allow her little body to focus all of the energy on healing any damage that may have been done to her brain. Kim and Brinley were both transported to different Boston hospitals where they would have access to more advanced medical services that are not available in New Hampshire. After 72 hours in a hypothermic state, medical professionals slowly warmed Brinley up. After a stabilization period, they will perform MRI's and other tests to assess the extent of the trauma.
Mitch was at home when he received the emergency call about Kim and baby. He scrambled to find child care for their two year old son, Greyson; knowing that they were likely going to be away for multiple days. As of right now, Kimberly has been stabilized and discharged from the hospital. Brinley will remain in the hospital for some time to continue her fight. A social worker at Boston Children's Hospital coordinated with the Fisher House Foundation, a non-profit organization that organizes temporary homes for military veterans that have loved ones in the hospital, to graciously cover a hotel room for Kim near the hospital. Kim will stay in the hotel near the hospital and Mitch will continue to care for Greyson and the house, while traveling back and forth to Boston to support Kim and Brinley.
Kim and Mitch are beyond touched by the outpouring of support from friends, and coworkers. The actions taken by Kim's coworkers in area D were life saving, and she is at a loss for words on how to express her gratitude. So many people have reached out to both Kim and Mitch in support, and they want everyone to know how grateful they are for their support and kind words, and apologize that they are not able to respond to everyone individually. The truth is, the Beck family has a long road ahead of them as they fight for Brinley's health.
Since so many of you have expressed an interest in helping the Beck family, we are organizing this go fund me to take some of the stress and burden off of them, so they can focus on getting their baby girl healthy. We would like to raise money to help them cover medical expenses, food, travel expenses, child care for Greyson, house maintenance while they are away, etc. Kim and Mitch have also requested that a portion of the money be donated to the Fisher House Foundation, whose charity has been instrumental in them being able to be near their baby girl. More than anything, Kim and Mitch just request your continued prayers and well-wishes. Endless thanks to everyone for the support!
