Support for Beattie – Husband, Dad, Grandad and Friend.

Donation protected
We’re reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your help for someone who means the world to so many of us — Ian Beattie. Or as most of us know him, Beattie.

Beattie has worked with us as a bricklayer for over 15 years, and in that time he’s become far more than just a workmate — he’s a friend, and one of the most genuine, good-hearted blokes you could ever hope to meet. Always smiling, always up for a laugh, and always the first to help someone else out. He’s truly loved by everyone who knows him.

Beattie is a proud husband to Vanda, a devoted dad to Bess and Jack, and a very proud grandad too. His family means everything to him, and they are all absolutely heartbroken right now.

A short while ago, Beattie suffered a tragic accident that has left him paralysed from the shoulders down. He’s currently in intensive care at the RD&E hospital but will soon be getting transferred from Exeter to Salisbury Hospital to receive the specialist spinal care he now needs for his recovery.

We’re asking for your help to support them in two vital ways:
• In the short term, to help cover the cost of travel, accommodation, and living expenses while his family stays near the hospital to be by his side.
• In the long term, to help fund Beattie’s recovery and rehabilitation once he’s back home — including making necessary adaptations to the house, such as ramps, specialist equipment, and accessible facilities to give him the best possible quality of life moving forward.

His family want nothing more than to be with him every step of the way — but the cost of travel and accommodation near Salisbury will place a financial strain on them during what is already the toughest time of their lives.

This will be a long and challenging road for Beattie and his family — physically, emotionally, and financially. But if anyone has the strength and spirit to face it head-on, it’s him. And with the love and support of his community behind him, we know he won’t be doing it alone.

We’re asking for your support on behalf of Vanda, Jack, Bess, and the rest of the family so they can be close to Beattie as he begins this incredibly difficult journey. Every single donation will go directly towards covering their travel and accommodation costs, so they can focus on what matters most — being there for him.

Beattie has spent his whole life caring for others and looking after everyone he knows. Let’s show him just how much love and support is coming back his way.

Please donate if you can — and just as importantly, please share this with anyone who knows and loves the man we all call Beattie.

Thank you.
