Ally and Patrick Hartman, from Billings, MT, welcomed their baby boy Leo into the world far earlier than expected. Born at just 26 weeks and weighing only 1lb 14oz, Leo has shown incredible strength and resilience during his extended stay in the NICU. Since his birth on July 25, 2025, Leo has faced numerous medical challenges, including multiple transfusions and serious lung complications. Ally has also endured her own health struggles, all while remaining by Leo’s side.
In early September, Ally and Leo were flown to Salt Lake City so Leo could receive specialized care for a dangerous brain bleed, the surgery then lead to an infection, and Ally has stayed with him ever since, unable to return to work. She may need to remain in Salt Lake until the end of October, adding to the emotional and financial strain. Patrick has stayed in Billings to continue working, making it even more difficult for the family to be apart during this challenging time. Ally has called Patrick their rock, as he supports them from afar.
Ally and Patrick have always been strong for their son. Ally, a dedicated early education teacher, has spent years caring for the children of her community. Now, she and Patrick need support from their community as they fight for Leo’s health and hope to bring him home soon.
The costs of housing, travel, and lost income are mounting, and your help can ease their burden during this critical time. By supporting the Hartman family, you’re helping them focus on what matters most: Leo’s recovery and journey home.
