Support for Baby Lennon & The Cauble Family

Donation protected
Lennon Juniper Guinevere Cauble was born Wednesday, April 28th at 9:20 p.m. and was 5.9 lbs and 19 inches.

Early on in pregnancy, Lennon was diagnosed with a congenital heart disease called Truncus Arteriosus. Shortly after she was born last Wednesday evening, she was taken to the cardiac intensive care unit at the Children’s Hospital in Dallas.

She underwent a massive amount of testing, echocardiograms and a CT scan. We were then informed that it was a different congenital heart defect - pulmonary atresia with ventricular septal defect. The medical team in Dallas discussed Lennon’s heart  and concluded they did not think surgery was an option and recommended Lennon for a heart transplant. This was a tremendous blow to our spirits and we were not expecting this news.

We both discussed the reality of Lennon’s situation, trying to make sense of it, and ultimately decided we wanted to move forward with a heart transplant. The Dallas team was incredibly informative and great to work with. Our surgeon, Dr. Guleserian advised we travel to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston to receive the absolutely best care available in the state for our daughter. Just days after she was born, Lennon took her first flight to Texas Children's early Sunday morning, where we met her (via car-ride)  shortly after.

Anticipating the same plan of action that had started in Dallas, we have been mentally preparing for her to start the process for a transplant. On Tuesday (5/4), after the Houston medical team met about Lennon they informed us that they want to operate surgically instead! We are overjoyed by this news and are cautiously optimistic that this is a step in the right direction. Lennon is scheduled for surgery on Thursday (5/6) and though this surgery is not a fix for her condition, and she will likely require many more surgeries (as she gets older) we are hopeful this will be the start of her recovery and living the life we have planned for her. We are so thankful for everyone’s prayers, good thoughts and positivity through these incredibly trying times. We love you all!

Notes on this fundraiser:

Friends & family started this go fund me to help offset the expenses (lodging, food, bills, costs that come with living out of a suitcase, etc.) for Justin, Darien and Blake so they can focus on their family and not have to worry about all the little things that quickly add up over a short period of time. Additionally, it is not fully understood yet what medical bills will look like and what will and will not be covered. Lennon will most likely undergo many procedures in her lifetime and we may alter the goal once we understand whether other costs are incurred or are not covered by insurance. Thank you in advance for your support of this amazing family.
