I am reaching out to share a GoFundMe page I’ve organized for my sister, Asia Stewart, and her family. While she is often hesitant to ask for help, her family is currently facing significant challenges.

After navigating a difficult journey that included a pregnancy loss in 2024 and the high-risk birth of her son, Derek Jr., Asia is now 31 weeks pregnant with her second son. Due to health complications that began at 24 weeks, she has been placed on light duty and is currently unable to work.

While the family of 4

has been relying on Derek Sr.’s income, the mounting medical debt from previous complications and the loss of Asia’s wages have become overwhelming. Although she has applied for the MN Paid Leave program, they have been waiting over a month for a determination.
