On February 9th, Ashton and Benny joyfully welcomed their beautiful 8 lb. 10 oz. baby girl, Laylyn, into the world. What should have been a season filled with rest and celebration quickly turned into an unexpected journey of medical challenges.

In the days following delivery, Ashton began experiencing severe postpartum symptoms that intensified rapidly, leading to multiple doctor visits and, ultimately, an emergency room admission on Sunday. As of Tuesday, she remains hospitalized. Doctors have identified a blood clot in her right lung along with significant emotional crashes that have brought overwhelming and dark moments for her. Additional symptoms are still being evaluated as her medical team works to ensure her safety and recovery.

Over the past nine nights, four have already been spent in the hospital, with the possibility of more ahead. This has meant that Ashton and Benny have not been able to fully enjoy these first precious days with Laylyn or be present in the way they desire with their other children.

As you can imagine, the emotional toll has been heavy. Alongside that, the financial strain has grown. The unexpected medical expenses and Ashton’s delayed return to work have created additional pressure during an already difficult season. Benny, as the founder and lead pastor of a church just over a year old, faithfully serves his community, but their current income does not fully cover these mounting and unforeseen costs.
