My name is Ashley Richardson, and I live in Florence, SC. I am a single mother of seven wonderful children—four are my biological kids, and three are my niece and nephews whom I have raised as my own. When my sister faced difficult circumstances, I was granted full custody of her children to keep them safe and together with family. It hasn’t always been easy, but I am grateful every day for the chance to give them a loving home.
Recently, we’ve faced some unexpected challenges. I am working hard to keep up with household expenses and bills, but it’s been tough. On top of everything, someone came into our yard and destroyed the pool I had bought for the kids, cutting it open and leaving them heartbroken. With school starting soon, I’m also trying to gather supplies and essentials so my children can start the year off right. The costs add up quickly, and it can feel overwhelming at times.
Receiving support from this community would mean the world to us. It would help me catch up on bills, restock our home with what we need, and replace the pool so the kids can have a safe place to play and make memories. Most importantly, it would lighten my load and help me provide a stable, happy environment for all seven children. I want to thank everyone who takes the time to read our story and consider helping. Sometimes, it’s hard to admit when you need help, but I believe it’s okay to not be okay—and I am so grateful for any kindness you can share. May God bless you and your family, and may the support you give us return to you many times over.
