It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of David “Davey” Brent Smith on Christmas morning, December 25, 2025. Davey was a devoted husband and a loving father who cherished his wife and sons above all else. He was an avid BYU and Denver Broncos fan and joyfully shared that passion with his boys and extended family. Davey was also a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Anyone who knew Davey knew that he had a remarkable way of lighting up every room he entered. Despite being paralyzed since the age of five, he never allowed his disability to define or limit him. Many would never have known the daily challenges and pain he endured, because Davey faced life with determination, optimism, and an unwavering desire to be present for those he loved. He often spoke of wanting the very best for his wife and sons and strove every day to be the best man he could be for them.

One of Davey’s greatest goals was to provide for his family so Ashley could spend more time at home with their boys. He worked tirelessly toward that dream, believing deeply in the importance of family. This fundraiser helps honor Davey’s wish by supporting Ashley and allowing that goal to continue, even in his absence.

Davey will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind his wife, Ashley, and their two sons, David (7) and Ryker (2).
