I am raising funds for Amelia and Sophia who have faced unimaginable loss in the past year. In June 2024, their mother Heather passed away, and now, their father Josh has also died. These two young girls are now surrounded by the love and care of Heather’s mom, Nona Linda, aunts, uncles, their big sister Bella, Josh’s dad, Grandpa Michael, his wife Cheryl, and Josh’s sister Aimee. This close-knit family has come together and will ensure Amelia and Sophia know they are safe, supported, and so very loved.

Amelia is a chatterbox with very definite ideas on fashion since age three. I know firsthand she has won every debate before school on the day’s outfit. She is full of energy, loves gymnastics and dance. Sophia is creative, philosophical, and feels deeply. She has the wit and dry sense of humor of an old soul and loves to have intellectual conversations about everything from fairy tales to why people do the things they do.

To know Josh was to love him. He was a kind and gentle soul who truly wanted everyone to be happy. He was a talented photographer, known for professional headshots. He authored articles on personal growth and collaboration. He opened his business J. Gharis Face Photos, LLC and was recently named "Best of Milford, CT Region Headshot Photographer" for 2025. His legacy of kindness, creativity, and love for his family will live on through Amelia and Sophia.
