Anyone that has been to Rise Radio more than once in the last couple years knows that La Negra is the heart & mama bear of our space. There is truly no one stronger, fiercer, or more loving.

 

Last November, she started having some serious complications with her health and has been in and out of the hospital for months. After much testing, she has been diagnosed with Neuromyelitis optica -- a rare disease that affects the central nervous system.

 

Negra is back home now, regaining strength and protecting her health, but will not be returning to work for some time. As such, we are coming together as community to help raise funds to assist her and her family with bills & expenses during this extremely challenging time.

 

On Friday, February 25th 7pm-2am, we will be throwing our official fundraiser event with all of Negra's favorite DJ's coming together for the cause! Please join us IRL or catch the livestream on twitch.tv/riseradionyc. Stay tuned on Instagram for details.

 

We will be collecting donations before and after the event. Please keep Negra in your prayers, and spread the word!
