Support for Afghan Family's New Life

Hello, my name is Janet and I live in Silver Spring, MD. I'm raising funds for an Afghan family that moved to our area last year and has been awaiting approval of their asylum application and work authorization. There are five children ranging in age from less than six months to 10 years old. The father is very motivated to work and support his family and has been waiting for his work authorization for over a year. Our community has received a large number of Afghan refugees since the U.S. withdrew from Afghanistan in 2021 and there are not sufficient resources to assist all of them through our local government.

All funds raised will be directed to the family and used for rent, utilities, medical expenses, clothing, food, and transportation.
