Abdul Issifu, a graduate student of the Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Physics at South Dakota State University, is facing an unimaginable loss. His wife recently passed away from liver cancer, leaving Abdul as a single parent to their baby boy, who is only a few months old. As a student, Abdul is struggling to balance his academic responsibilities and the demands of caring for his child. Now, Abdul will be raising his baby alone in Brookings, SD, which will significantly increase the cost of living due to the need for child care services and other essential expenses.

The financial burden is significant, especially for someone still pursuing his PhD. Abdul's friends, colleagues, and the Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Physics at South Dakota State University are rallying together to support him in any way they can.
