A family in our community is facing an unimaginable loss. On February 22nd, a 42-year-old mother was hospitalized after what seemed like a small, infected cut led to a diagnosis of leukemia. In just a matter of weeks, her family’s world was turned upside down. She passed away on April 8th, never making it back home to her life and family. She leaves behind her husband and their two young children—a bright and kind 7-year-old daughter, a second grader at a local Upper East Side public school, and a sweet 3½-year-old son who attends preschool nearby. These kids have lost their mother too soon, and their father is now navigating life as a single parent while grieving this loss. We are raising funds to support this family during this difficult time. The goal is to ease some of the day-to-day burdens by helping cover the cost of meals through delivery/takeout, and to allow the kids to stay engaged in classes and extracurricular activities—providing them with stability, structure, and moments of joy as they adjust to life without their mom. This is a very kind and loving family, and their loss is both sudden and heartbreaking. As their neighbors, we are coming together to offer whatever support we can. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to give, sharing this page would also be appreciated. Thank you for helping surround this family with love and support during such a painful time.
