On Friday, my daughter and her young daughter began what was supposed to be a new chapter in their lives. They had just moved and were waiting to receive the keys to their new apartment. During this transition, they had no choice but to stay in a hotel while keeping all of their belongings in a rented U-Haul truck.

Last night, something heartbreaking happened. The U-Haul truck that held everything my daughter and granddaughter owned was stolen. Inside that truck were their clothes, furniture, personal items, and the basic things they needed to start over in their new home. In a moment, almost everything they had worked for was gone.

The total loss is estimated to be around $8,000 worth of belongings. My daughter has already filed a police report, and we are praying the truck and items will be recovered. But in the meantime, they are left with almost nothing as they try to move forward.

As a mother and grandmother, it breaks my heart to see them go through this. My daughter is doing her best to stay strong for her little girl, but starting over like this is incredibly difficult.
