My friend is a hardworking and trustworthy woman who has always put her family first. She is a devoted mother to two children and is currently pregnant with her third. Recently, her life was turned upside down by a series of unimaginable tragedies. Her husband, who was her partner and support, died suddenly in a car accident. Just six months later, her father in Guatemala, who was a breadwinner for their extended family, also passed away unexpectedly. As if that wasn’t enough, her 29-year-old brother contracted a disease from a mosquito bite and passed away, leaving behind a wife and three young children, ages 7, 4, and 3.

Despite all of this heartbreak, my friend has shown incredible strength. She is now the sole provider for her own children, as well as her sister-in-law, nieces, and nephews in Guatemala. She works tirelessly as a cleaner, doing everything she can to support everyone who depends on her. The weight of these responsibilities is overwhelming, and she is doing her best to keep her family together and safe.
