Statement from my best friend. The most loving caring person I know who always try’s to help where she can.

I never imagined I would be writing something like this.

I am a single disabled mom on SSI, doing my best every day to hold life together for my three children and our dog. Life has never been easy, but we have always managed to keep going, even through the hard days.

Recently, our lives were turned upside down by a devastating house fire. While we are incredibly grateful that everyone made it out safely, the damage we are left with is overwhelming. The fire destroyed our garage, shed, and two decks, and caused severe damage to the back of our home. The house is now filled with smoke smell, and we currently have no power while we wait for urgent electrician work and cleanup as there are live wires and other immediate issues.

One of my children was home when the fire started, and the fear of that moment is something I will never forget. As a mother, knowing how close we came to losing everything, including each other, has been incredibly hard to process.

We lost so many of the things that we worked so hard for. And some Basic necessities, transportation needs, and personal belongings are gone. My teen now needs a way to get to school, including a replacement bike or some form of transportation as my engine has been bad for some time now and only can drive a few blocks at a time. Which is why he’s been biking to school. And with summer around the corner and having a special needs child as well. We had some things funded through CLTS for sensory needs. And I had saved up a lot of money for outdoor stuff for the kids.

To make things even more difficult, I am scheduled for surgery next week and have another major surgery right after that recovery time is 5-6 months. . I am trying to stay strong for my children, but the weight of everything happening at once feels overwhelming.

it’s just. All. Allot. And I’m not really friends with many people and I don’t have many ties to my community. I mostly stay in my house because of my anxiety. And all this has made it all. So much worse. I don’t know how we will ever recover from this.

We do have insurance through State Farm, but the process takes time, and right now we are facing immediate needs that cannot wait. We are not asking for luxury, only help to get through the very basics of survival and stability while we begin the long process of rebuilding.

If you are able to donate, share, or simply send kindness our way, it would mean more than words can express. We are deeply grateful just to be safe, but we are also trying to find our footing again after losing so much in such a short time.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for helping our little family during one of the hardest moments of our lives.
