Nearly 1 in 3 Philadelphians relies on food assistance and with the upcoming potential loss of access to SNAP benefits, many families will face even greater challenges meeting their basic needs.
The Wharton health care and social impact community believes that food access is healthcare. Nutrition and health are deeply intertwined, and ensuring that everyone in our community has access to nutritious food is essential to achieving health equity.
That’s why the Digital Health Club, Fem Tech Club, Global Health Volunteers, Wharton Health Care Business Conference Team, and Wharton Health Care Club have come together to support Philabundance, a local organization ensuring no one goes hungry while healthy food goes to waste.
This effort reflects our shared commitment to addressing the social determinants of health and advancing equity through action. As future business and healthcare leaders, we recognize our role in shaping systems that promote well-being, not only through clinical care, but through economic opportunity and community resilience.
Your donation will help Philabundance:
- Provide healthy meals to families across Philadelphia.
- Support workforce development through the Philabundance Community Kitchen.
- Reduce food waste and strengthen local food systems.
Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the health of our city by ensuring that all Philadelphians have access to the nourishment they need to live healthy, dignified lives.
