Fluraleen (Flo) Bentley has always been the heart of our family. She's known for her sharp wit and her ability to make everyone around her laugh. As a retired county benefits specialist she dedicated her career to helping others, and her kindness has touched many lives. She is a proud mother of three adult children and a loving grandmother to two grandchildren. Her loyal dog, Misty, visits her whenever possible, bringing her comfort and joy during this challenging time.
Recently, Flo was placed in hospice care due to terminal lung cancer and congestive heart failure. While her mind remains strong and her sense of humor shines through, her body is growing weaker. Her mobility is limited and she has become bed bound from severe edema, and the pain that comes with it. She now needs around-the-clock care that can only be provided in an assisted living home. Medicare is covering her hospice care, but the cost of the assisted living facility is not included, and our family is struggling to cover these expenses.
We were able to pay for her first month, but starting in the third week of June, we will need help to ensure Flo can remain in a safe and supportive environment. Her new home includes an amazing staff that have done a great job to restore Flo's smile (see attached pic!) and strengthen her sense of safety. Any support will go directly toward her living expenses (which includes 24/7 care and food), allowing her to focus on comfort and quality time with her loved ones. Thank you for helping us care for Flo during this difficult time, ensuring her last months are as pleasant as possible.
