If you've ever stepped inside our 6000 sqft warehouse, you've experienced the "wow" moment. That feeling of magic and possibility that washes over you as you step inside. No matter the event, you are welcomed into a place that feels like home, a place where you find deep connection to other humans and maybe even to yourself. There are so few community spaces where you can come kick it and meet other like-minded people making things happen. Flow State has been that oasis since it opened its doors in April.
We need to raise $10k by November 29th to prevent our eviction.
We are seeking to raise an additional $10k to support the launch of the new community based business in January.
Flow State is more than just a space—it is the culmination of countless hours of passion, hope, and relentless hard work from a collective of individuals dedicated to breathing life into Portland's arts and healing community. Transforming this industrial warehouse into a haven where creativity, healing, and human connection flourish has not been an easy journey. From the very beginning, we knew building something so special would come with sacrifices, but we could never have anticipated just how steep the path would become.
This first year has tested us beyond measure. The financial strain of maintaining such a unique space, coupled with the initial hurdles of a new business, has placed us in a position of needing our community's support. We have given everything we have—our time, energy, and hearts—to make Flow State a sanctuary for all who enter. The financial weight of high monthly rent, however, continues to challenge our ability to maintain this dream. Despite our best efforts and the sheer dedication of our community, we find ourselves facing the possibility of losing what we have worked so hard to build.
Here's the deal: We have a triple net lease, which means we pay for rent, utilities and all of the building owners expenses including maintenance and taxes. This comes out to around $5500-6000 monthly. In August, we started getting hit with a $500 late fee every month because we couldn't pay in full (on top of the $5500-6000).
Like so many of us, learning to ask for help and receive that support is challenging for those behind this collective. We have given so much to building this community, and now we must turn back to you and ask for that in return. If you have ever felt the love, the welcoming, the magic, we ask that you help support us to continue this community space.
We want to open our doors wider, we want to bring in a new way of existing in the community, and we have a lot more art and healing left in us.
