Hi everyone,

I am Nina, and I am reaching out to our friends, family, and community to help support my sister-in-law, Flora Santos, and her family. This past November, Flora was diagnosed with Stage 4 Triple Negative Breast Cancer with a rare complication called leptomeningeal disease. Despite her incredible will to fight and aggressive treatments including multiple rounds of radiation and time in the neuro ICU, the cancer has continued to advance.

Our family is devastated to share that there are no remaining treatment options. Flora is now at home in hospice care, surrounded by her husband, Mike, and their two young boys, Jace (8) and Nate (4). Doctors have shared that her time may be limited to anywhere from weeks to months.

Flora is a lifelong educator who dedicated her career to early childhood education, always fighting to give inner-city children every advantage. She is witty, kind, and a lover of binging long shows like Outlander and Bridgerton with her family. She is also a big fan of really bad thriller movies and books. Most of all, she is a mother who lived for finding new parks and adventures for her boys. This is what she misses most of all, the ability to play with her kids, as she physically can't anymore.

We are asking for donations to help Mike and the boys during this unimaginable time. Our goal is to ease the heavy financial burden of extensive medical expenses, hospice care, and upcoming funeral costs. This will allow them to focus entirely on their final precious moments together without the added stress of mounting expenses.
