Support Flight Attendants: Unpaid Parental Leave

Greetings, beloved friends, family, and fellow enthusiasts!

Did you know that a staggering number of U.S. flight attendants face a daunting reality – the absence of paid parental leave? This financial uncertainty casts a shadow over what should be a joyful time, especially for couples who both work as flight attendants. In the face of varying airline policies, countless flight attendants are left with no paid leave, often resorting to unpaid FMLA just to hold onto their jobs. This eye-opening truth paints a stark picture of how the excitement of welcoming a new life can swiftly give way to stress for these growing families.

With heartfelt love, as some of her closest friends, we're rallying support for our dear friends Chely & Harvey, newlyweds and regional flight attendants, as they embark on the journey of parenthood.

Despite meticulously planning for baby Noah's August arrival, including accounting for a month of unpaid leave before and after birth, Chely and Harvey’s birth plan took an unforeseen turn. After three challenging days of labor, Chely's energy waned as baby Noah took his time to enter the world. This led to an emergency cesarean section, resulting in an extension of Chely's unpaid leave through October. Given the demanding nature of Chely’s role in the skies, returning to work swiftly without adequate recovery is an impossibility.

Harvey, unwavering in his support for his wife's unexpected surgical recovery and newborn care, has extended his unpaid leave beyond the initial plan as well.

Though not solicited, we strongly believe that many share our desire to make a significant impact on their lives.

Chely and Harvey have illuminated our lives with unwavering friendship and love throughout the years. Their adventurous spirits have graced our screens with globe-trotting escapades and in-flight photo adventures. Moreover, their delightful pregnancy TikToks have brought smiles to countless faces. Their essence exudes light, love, and laughter.

Today, as they embrace baby Noah with boundless joy, they stand at a pivotal crossroads in the weeks ahead with the extension of their loss of household income looming large.
