Fika is an independently owned coffee shop in the heart of Liverpool, but it is much more than a coffee shop, it is a community.
The ethos of our shop is to bring people together and support those less fortunate, in need, lonely or vulnerable.
We achieve this by offering free meals, free coffee for those in need. Through our Easter and Christmas appeals, feeding the homeless in Liverpool city centre, running mens mental health walk and talk sessions, hosting free community events including our recent Halloween scavenger hunt as well as feeding over 3000 people during the Covid pandemic.
But now FIKA needs YOUR support.
Due to the increased costs to small businesses we are struggling to survive. The increased rent, rates, utilities, stock & wages ect have brought us to our knees.
I have put my heart and soul into this community hub that I have created over the past 8 years. This year alone, I have had to use all my personal savings, sacrificed family holidays and have been unable to take a monthly wage for the past few months.
Running our shop is much more than a job to me, helping people feels more like a vocation.
I use my position in the community and large presence on social media to try make the world a better place.
Your support to allow us to continue would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Tony
