Help Support Faith Leader Fidel Sánchez Ávalos and His Family

We are raising funds for Fidel Sánchez Ávalos, a beloved faith leader and community member who has called the United States home for 30 years. Fidel has been an active member of Christ the King (CTK) for 25 years and a dedicated leader with the San Diego Organizing Project (SDOP) for nearly a decade. He is a father of two U.S. citizen daughters and a source of strength, compassion, and faith for many in our community.

On Thursday, October 9th, Fidel attended his Master Immigration Hearing, where he was scheduled for a follow-up appointment in January 2026. Despite this, he was unexpectedly detained by ICE following the hearing. His attorney is working hard to request bail, but there is no guarantee it will be granted.

Right now, Fidel’s family is facing emotional and financial hardship. We are asking for your support to help cover legal expenses, family needs, and related costs during this difficult time. Any contribution—no matter the size—will make a meaningful difference.
