Ferron, a first-year internal medicine resident at Overlook Medical Center, is seeking help to rebuild his family’s home in Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa left them with nothing.


When the storm tore through his hometown, Ferron spent days anxiously trying to reach his family from New Jersey. Communication lines were down, and his greatest fear was for his grandmother, who lived alone nearly 100 miles away. After desperate outreach through neighbors, she was finally found — safe, but her home had been completely washed away. She’s now staying in a neighbor’s house with no roof and minimal shelter.


This fundraiser will help rebuild their home, replace essentials, and ensure his grandmother has a safe place to live.
