Update: 05/19/25: The trucking company is now claiming they weren’t even in the area when my father, Antonio, was struck and killed. But the video tells the truth — they were there.

This was a hit-and-run. The driver never called the police, never called an ambulance — just drove away as if nothing had happened.

My father and Valdenor might still be alive today if the driver had acted like a decent human being. It breaks my heart to imagine my father suffering on that road.

What kind of person does this? What kind of company defends it?

This is Antonio Costa — my father, my hero, and the heart of our family. He was tragically taken from us in a devastating accident, along with his coworker, Valdenor Gomes, due to the reckless and negligent actions of a trucking company that failed to meet even the most basic safety standards. The driver responsible remains at large and has not yet been brought to justice.

Antonio touched the lives of many through his work on our beloved family farm, Posiano. He and my mother poured their hearts into it — known throughout Crateús for making the best queijo coalho around. He wasn’t just a farmer — he was a friend, a neighbor, a man of integrity, and a true pillar of the community.

Valdenor Gomes, who lost his life alongside my father, leaves behind three young children. He was the sole provider for his family, who now face a future of deep uncertainty. They live in extremely humble conditions, and this heartbreaking loss has left them in urgent need of support.

No words can express the pain of losing my dad, and nothing can ever bring him back. But in the face of this unimaginable loss, we are determined to seek justice — not only for Antonio, but for all the families shattered by this preventable tragedy.

The funds raised here will be used for two essential purposes: to pursue legal action against the company and driver responsible for this injustice, and to provide immediate support to Valdenor’s family — ensuring they have access to basic necessities during this incredibly difficult time.
