Our Evan from Heaven is a bright light in this world. He was born into the Schwendtke family with Trisomy 21 also known as Down syndrome, 16 years ago. Currently Evan is in critical condition due to complications of Pneumonia and requires a ventilator at Seattle, WA Children's Hospital in the PICU. Kurt and Debbie Schwendtke (his parents) are there 24/7 to remain vigilant in his care. Sisters, Marissa Porter and Britta Nieman are taking turns driving every day to the hospital from Granite Falls, WA so they can relieve Kurt and Debbie to go home and get much-needed rest. Evan is expected to remain in the PICU for several weeks to several months. At this time, expenses are starting to accumulate between travel, food, and miscellaneous expenditures. Kurt (Dad) is currently on paid leave for 12 weeks to be with Evan while he is receiving the care he needs. We remain hopeful through prayer and faith in the Lord during this difficult time. Any donations are greatly appreciated, and if you are not financially able to, please send prayers. If you don't pray, please send positive thoughts our way! Evan is greatly missed at home by his family (brother in laws, multiple nieces and nephews), school friends, and community. Thank you so much for reading!
