Evan Reyes is beginning his freshman year at Seton Hall University, facing a future shaped by both promise and loss. His mother, Amy, was a single parent who dedicated over two decades to serving the Paterson Public Schools community. Amy’s life was defined by her commitment to others and her unwavering support for Evan, her only child. She lost her own father at 51—the same age she was when she passed—making every moment with Evan even more precious. Amy was Evan’s biggest cheerleader, whether on the lacrosse field, at football games, or in everyday life. She shared her love of people, music, and family with him, instilling values that continue to guide him.
Evan graduated from PCTI with a focus in Criminal Justice and was the recipient of the Honoring the Trades Scholarship. He excelled in athletics, playing four years of varsity lacrosse, earning 100 points during his high school career, and receiving first team all-league and second team all-county honors. He also played varsity football and club lacrosse for NJ Thunder. Evan is a passionate fan of the Green Bay Packers, Giants, and Boston Red Sox. Now, as a psychology major at Seton Hall, Evan faces the challenge of continuing his education and pursuing his dreams without his most important caregiver and provider.
This fundraiser is dedicated to helping Evan cover living expenses, and any other support services he may need, ensuring that Amy’s legacy of love and opportunity lives on. Amy worked incredibly hard to give Evan every chance to succeed, and with your support, we can honor her deepest wish: to see her son thrive, no matter the obstacles.
