Since June, Allison has been engaged in contract work with the international non-profit, Wine to Water. WTW is committed to supporting life and dignity for all through the power of clean water. Their team provides clean water through water access, filtration, sanitation, and hygiene education, as well as disaster relief. WTW has program sites around the world, in Nepal, the Amazon, Tanzania, and the Dominican Republic.

Allison was invited to join a volunteer trip this October 18 - 28th to the Nepal site, located in the Himalayas. Thanks to family support for help with our daughter Amelia, Ethan is able to attend the trip as well!

It seems unconventional for both of us to say "yes" to the opportunity, but we believe this will be a special, impactful experience for us to do together. It's also a powerful way to demonstrate service to Amelia, and help open up the conversation of privilege, global views, and building community first-hand in our little family.

For this trip, our team will be heading to a town called Gorkah, which is near the epicenter of the 8.1M earthquake that devastated the region in April, 2015. When this happened, WTW responded to the crisis by deploying hundreds of water filters to the area, eventually forming a permanent Nepali-run team to continue building clean-water infrastructure. In the past decade, this team has provided several Nepali communities with access to clean water through wells, filtration, gravity flow systems and tap stands for individual families and schools.

We are jointly fundraising for the costs of our trip and are asking for your help.
