Tuesday, Erin’s life was turned upside down when she was hit head-on by another vehicle. The impact completely totaled her van, hitting her directly on the driver’s side. At the time of the accident, Erin was around 36 weeks pregnant.

She was rushed to the hospital by ambulance, where doctors monitored her closely before making the urgent decision to deliver her baby by emergency c-section. Erin had suffered a partial placental abruption—a dangerous complication—and little Briggs had to be taken immediately to the NICU, where he is still being monitored and cared for.

This has been a terrifying and overwhelming experience for Erin and her family. In an instant, they were faced not only with a traumatic accident, but with the unexpected arrival of their baby boy, ongoing medical needs, and the loss of their vehicle.
