Bring Kacie Rae home

Donation protected

My name is Laura, I am Ericka's mom and Kacie's grandma. My family and I are trying to raise money to help allow Ericka and Drew to be with Kacie as much as possible.
On April 17th, Ericka was 23 weeks pregnant with her second child. That morning Ericka woke up feeling some discomfort under her chest bone and slight heartburn. During her last pregnancy she was diagnosed with sever pre eclampsia at 29 week and had Carmen at 32. Ericka decided  to go to the hospital and have it checked out.   When examined, they found her blood pressure to be much higher than it should be.  She was told she would have to stay for observation, only  hours later, told she couldn't leave until the baby was born. She was diagnosed with placenta pre eclampsia .FGR fetal growth restrictions- Meaning the blood flow between baby and placenta was not flowing correctly and the placenta and baby stopped growing, putting baby at high risk.
Kacie was brought into this world much sooner than expected. Her due date was August 10th but Dr's had to do an emergency C-section on April 24th, at 24 weeks gestation. Kacie only weighed 14 Oz and measured 10" long. She is considered a micro premie . This little baby has had to fight since the moment she was brought into this world.
For the past 12 days of her life she has had a lung hemmorage, her red & white blood cells along with platelets were extremely low and has had several blood & platelet transfusions to try and increase her levels.  Her blood sugar level is low and is given sugar every 3 hours. She has a brain bleed, one lung that isn't pumping like it should, a heart murmur, she is on a ventilator and has a lot of fluid in her stomach. Her little body isn't producing the gasses that are needed.
On May 2nd her heart rate dropped to a dangerous rate and Ericka and Drew were called to the NICU, the staff suggested that Ericka try and hold her as parental touch is very helpful to these babies. As they have found that Skin on skin contact is very beneficial. When Ericka held her, Kacie's heart rate went from 97 to 140. What a miracle in itself that was.
Drew was able to get a  FMLA from work for the next few months however, that would mean no pay. They have bills piling in and medical bills that are not covered by their insurance.
If you could please find it in your heart to donate, any denomination, it would be greatly appreciated. These two parents have so much on their plate and a long journey ahead. They both need to spend as much time as possible with their baby and helping them with their financial burdens would give them one less thing to worry about.
If we achieve our goal and there is any donations left, we will be donating all left over funds to the NICU unit at Toledo Hospital.
Thank you and have a blessed day.
