Captain Eric Schwind is a firefighter/paramedic with Richmond Township Fire Protection District. About two months ago, Eric suffered from an ear infection. The symptoms worsened and he ended up with partial paralysis on one side, resembling Bell’s Palsy. It not only affected his abilities with his facial muscles, but also his ability to walk and function at 100%. Last night, April 12th, he was admitted to the hospital for dizziness; it was later discovered that he is now suffering from renal failure. Eric is just short of 30 years old, with an amazing wife and two young boys. His condition has kept him out of work for about two months, with an uncertainty in how long it will continue. Eric is a phenomenal father, husband, and a staple to the Richmond fire community. This has been heartbreaking to all who associate with him. We’re asking for a helping hand to raise funds for a fellow firefighter; his family has done a fantastic job holding down the fort and they do wonders to help out Richmond Fire Department. The medical bills and hospitalization will be a huge weight off of their shoulders if we can bring some money together for them. Please, anything contributed helps. Prayers and well wishes to Eric Schwind and family.
