On Friday, September 6th, 2024, my gardener, Epifanio Alcala, was robbed in broad daylight. Epi parked his truck across the street from my grandmother's house and began working when an SUV started circling around the block. After circling a couple of times, they pulled up behind his truck, cut the chains that were securing his locked equipment, and stole one of his lawn mowers, a leaf blower, other gardening tools, and his wallet. On top of stealing his work equipment and wallet, they slashed one of his tires as well.

Epi has been our gardener for decades. He is such a kind-hearted, hard-working, and respectful man. This theft was an unfortunate event. Having to replace the equipment stolen and the slashed tires has placed a financial burden on Epi and his family.
