Support Enzos Eagle Scout Project (Wildlife Viewing Deck)

I am Enzo Bonomo and am a Boy Scout with troop 1261 in Grosse Ile. I am building a wildlife viewing platform on the canal at Meridian and Lowrie in Grosse Ile so people can view the amazing wildlife in our area, especially the species that are coming back for the first time in decades. This is important to me because I've always been passionate about conservation and would like to be a Zoologist for my career. Seeing the wildlife come back to Grosse Ile and the Detroit River is a symbol to me that we have overcome years of pollution that pushed wildlife out long ago.

In addition, this deck will provide a safe place for people to fish, since they usually fish on bridges which isn't allowed. This would be a great place to fish for largemouth bass and other fish seen in the canal.

I hope to have this project completed no later than August 2024. Your donation will help me purchase Trex decking from Mans Lumber, Concrete, and other materials necessary to build this deck. The people building the deck with me will be my fellow scouts along with Grosse Ile High School football, wrestling, rowing, and NHS students. Up to this point, I have the deck plans written out, have been advised by Finazzo Construction on the buildout, and will have them along with family members help me see the project through.
