We're buying a house!

This process has been nerve-wracking, but here we are, almost there!

Emi lucked out, making it through a wait-list 83 folks long for a shot at one of California's first-time home buyer down payment lotteries, giving us 90 days to be under contract and close!

Our first offer was accepted, and we were hoping to negotiate closing cost credits... but... the house is in too good of shape to get us all the way there. A good problem to have, as some may say.

We need your help! We're going to be eating a lot of ramen and beans and rice for a while as it stands, but avoiding mortgage insurance may let us add some toppings and salsa from time to time.

We're excited and nervous. We had some expenses hit while we were waiting that bit into our savings... and the way things are going in this country, stress levels and trauma around every corner aren't helping.
