Support Emily in Making Adjustments to Her Life

Hi! Most of you know my sister, Emily Bounds, and how amazing she is. Emily is 26, and one of the most astounding and caring people in the world. She is smart and driven, and has never let obstacles get her down. She is one to always push forward and has been a true inspiration to not only me, but several others that have been lucky enough to know her. In July 2023, Emily had surgery on her spinal cord to remove a tumor. After surgery, while in recovery, Emily began experiencing complications and collapsed. Since, Emily has been in physical therapy pushing forward to regain her ability to walk again. As of now, Emily is at the TIRR Memorial Hermann Rehabilitation Center, and is working hard to overcome the circumstances that life has thrown her way. Emily is currently in multiple physical therapy sessions a day in order to help her walk and adjust to a new lifestyle, and is surrounded by doctors who believe in her almost as much as I do. My family is in disarray over how something could happen to such a healthy, loving, and generous person, but we have kept our heads up knowing that Emily can overcome anything, and will live a happy life regardless of the adversity that she now faces. As Emily conquers this next phase of her life, I am asking for others to share or support in any way possible. Any amount helps, and will be used towards renovating her living area and car to be wheel chair accessible, as well as accommodations so she can continue her education at UMHB in the physicians assistant program. All proceeds will go to helping make Emily’s adjustment easier as she gets back on track. Thank you for all the support in helping my family as they face these challenges, and we appreciate all the kind words for Emily! She truly deserves the world, and I know that even though things seem difficult now, Emily will live a happy and inspirational life.
