Emerson still needs our help.
As you may remember, 6 months ago, our friend Emerson was forced onto an unpaid medical leave. Not only did this happen after management explicitly told him it wouldn't, but he was also left with no path to return to work.
Only after we made noise about his situation, did Trader Joe's cave and allow him to return. Unfortunately though, this would be short lived.
Within a month of returning, Emerson told management he'd need to take three days off. In advance, the store captain said he could count these days as excused absences. Imagine Emerson’s surprise when he learned that these absences would actually be counted as no-call no-shows, leading to his termination.
Today Emerson is without a source of income while continuing to face health issues. He is currently in inpatient care for physical therapy and rehab after weeks of hospitalization. To add insult to injury, Trader Joe's classified his termination as job abandonment to prevent him from collecting unemployment.
We are still fighting for Emerson's job, but in the meantime, he needs real material help right now to keep food on the table, pay his bills and cover his increasing medical expenses.
Any funds recived will help Emerson survive while navigating his health issues and searching for new work.
