My father was born in Nassau, Bahamas, and came to the United States as a young child, spending much of his early life in New York before moving to Minnesota in search of stability and opportunity. For over 30 years, he has been a committed member of this community and a devoted father to his children, three of whom are under the age of seven. He has always been a provider, a protector, and a constant source of care for his family.

Recently, our father was detained by ICE, and our family’s world has been shaken. His absence has left his young children without their primary support, while we face urgent legal and financial challenges—made even harder by a recent move to a new home. All funds raised will go directly toward legal fees, support for his children, and essential living costs as we navigate this sudden and painful disruption.

My father is no monster. He is a father, a man who has spent his life trying to belong in systems that never fully embraced him.
