Rally for a local musicians recovery after a brutal assault

Donation protected
Emanuel Mitchell, a beloved local New Orleans musician and two time Grammy nominee, has dedicated his life to carrying on the city’s rich musical legacy. After performing with his band on Frenchmen Street, Emanuel was the victim of a hate crime and was viciously attacked while onlookers just watched. He was stabbed four times—once on top of his head, twice in his neck, and once in his shoulder. Whilst bleeding out, he managed to drive himself to the hospital. Unfortunately, this has happened at the peak of festival season which most musicians rely on. The injuries he sustained have left him unable to work, and as a freelance musician, playing music is his sole source of income.

This senseless act has not only caused Emanuel pain, but it has also left him with mounting hospital bills and life-altering injuries. Emanuel has always been there to lift the spirits of our community through his music, and now he needs our help more than ever.

We’re asking the community to rally around Emanuel during this difficult season. Your donation will help cover his medical expenses, support his recovery, and provide financial relief while he is unable to perform. As a fellow musician, I’m asking for our community to come together and show Emanuel the same love and support he has given us. Any contribution, big or small, will make a difference. Thank you for helping Emanuel continue his legacy in New Orleans music.
