Support El's Family in Bud's Final Days

Hi! My name is El, I’m 20 years old. The dog you see in these pictures is Bud. He is 8 years old, a Rottweiler-Pitbull mix. My family and I got Bud when he was a couple of months old. He came from a rough background; he was abused and mistreated the first couple of months of his life. We took Bud under our wing. The first day he was at our house, he was shaking and petrified. Since then, with lots of love and patience, he has gotten much better and happier. He is loved and well taken care of.

This year, we noticed his appetite and weight decrease. Out of concern, he was brought to the vet. They diagnosed him with liver cancer, as well as some issues with his spleen. At the time of his diagnosis, we were told that he had no more than a year left. Recently, he has declined much further. In the past couple of days, he’s gotten really bad. We are told that he is at the point where he is going to need to be put down within the week, realistically within the next 1-3 days. This is extremely heart-wrenching for us, as he’s been a best friend to us all. He was always there for us through everything, even more notably when my late grandfather was battling Lewy body dementia, ultimately passing away in November of 2020. We got Bud right around when I turned 13 and have had him since.

For years, I have struggled with mental illness and long bouts of depression. Bud has always been there for me, my brother, my mother, my grandmother, my grandfather... He has always been there for us. He needs us the most right now, and we are trying very hard to give him the best we can. Money is tight though, as I am sure it is for everyone else as well. Anything helps us though, and we appreciate any and all help given to us. This money would be used for his euthanasia and cremation service prices. No words can truly explain how heartbroken I feel writing this, and it is really difficult for me to process that this is actually happening. I always dreaded the day this moment would hit me. I just want to have a piece of Bud after he leaves. If you cannot donate, anything helps. Whether you post this, send this to someone you know... Anything.
