Support Ellie Sue's Journey to Health

Donation protected
Ellie Sue entered this world one month shy of her due date. As a precaution due to her prematurity they checked her blood sugar. Unfortunately, it was dangerously low. She was raven into the NICU to be place on an IV that would increase her blood sugar to a safe level. Over the next 48 hours, as they observed her in the NICU, they noticed she was not stoolinh in her own which led to a multitude of tests. Ultimately, at 9 days old she was Air lifted to Rocky Mountain hospital for children to undergo a biopsy of her colon. The first biopsy was unfortunately inconclusive. Ellie has had to undergo stool irrigations since she arrived in Denver three times a day (and they've had to continue since her arrival home). After the second biopsy, Ellie was released to go home under the promise that her parents would continue to throughly document every feeding, irrigation and stool activity. Two days after Ellie Sue arrived home, her parents received the phone call that she does in fact have Hirschsprung's Disease. If not corrected, Hirschsprung's Disease can cause a multitude of issues. At this point Ellie will continue to meet with the Surgeon from Denver every few weeks as she works to gain weight. Onec Ellie Sue reaches about 8.5 pounds, she will be eligible to have surgery in order to repair her colon and cure her Hirschsprung's.

Your support will aid in relieving some of the financial stressors from both the cost of her initial NICU stays, but will also support the financial burdens that come with her upcoming surgery as she will be in Denver for at least another week for that.
