HELP Ellie after Palisades fire then car theft

My next-door neighbor Ellie might as well be my mom! It’s kind of unbelievable, but we both lost our homes in the Palisades fire in Los Angeles recently. Ellie is the greatest neighbor I could’ve ever asked for. After our homes were incinerated, Ellie went to stay with a friend in Santa Monica. Just one week after everything went down, apparently someone stole her car last night. Ellie has refused any support from others as she is one of the most self-reliant people I have ever met. I went to visit her today after the news of the stolen car, and I told her that if I raised enough money for her to buy a new car, she would have to accept it. I can’t explain how terrible I feel for what she has gone through at this stage in her life. She has been there for me as one of the most kind and generous people I could’ve ever asked to live next to. I care deeply about her welfare and will build a house next to mine if it comes down to it someday, just so we can be neighbors again. The world needs Ellie and Ellie needs the world’s support and love right now more than ever. Please, let’s help her see that even in her darkest moment, there is light!
