Support Elizabeth's Wrestling Dream in Italy

Hi, my name is Elizabeth Bailey. I’m in 7th grade, and I wrestle at 107 for the Shenendehowa High School Girls Varsity Wrestling Team. Off-season, I wrestle at Journeymen Wrestling Club. I am raising money to fund a trip to Italy next summer with Journeymen to train with Michele Liuzzi, an Italian national wrestling coach and former Olympian.

I started wrestling in 2019 when I was just 7 years old. This sport has become such a big part of my life, and it is so important to me. I feel happiest when I’m on a wrestling mat. Short term, my goals are to get stronger, win more medals, and go to as many tournaments as I can to get the most experience and exposure. Long term, my goals are to get a college scholarship for wrestling, and one day go to the Olympics.

I want to go to Italy to attend this wrestling camp because I think it will help me grow as an athlete, and it will be an incredible cultural experience. (Also, I’ve always wanted to eat real Italian pizza, pasta, and gelato!) Going on this trip would be a dream come true!

I think I deserve to go on this trip because I have proven my dedication, perseverance, and determination. I attend all my practices, tournaments, and duals, and I always put forth 100% effort. I volunteer to help out at wrestling events whenever I can. I am disciplined, and I have changed my unhealthy habits into healthy behaviors. I maintain a GPA >90% at school.
