This request I am making is for my 21-year-old daughter, Elizabeth, who just gave birth to Baby Siah several days ago on Dec. 17th.

She has already been blessed because the umbilical cord was wrapped around Siah's little neck 3 times, and with her delivering naturally, we know God's hands were there because he has no known long-term effects.

Elizabeth works a full-time job and gets WIC assistance but doesn't qualify for any other help currently.

I am writing this today because she is very hardworking and last year started this new job that was more money, but the bad news is now that she has had the baby, the job isn't giving her 6 weeks postpartum paid time off due to the fact she hasn't been there quite 1 year yet.

She was attempting to go back to work today on Christmas because she is the breadwinner and they need the money to pay the bills, but she had a medical setback and the ER doctor is insistent that she needs to not be in any way active and take it easy because her body is still healing from the miracle of childbirth.

It would be great for her to be home and able to bond with Siah for the next 5 weeks but the bills don't end when a baby is born.

I know firsthand she is a deserving individual who hasn't taken a day off in months because she repeatedly has had to put her responsibilities first again and again.

Normally, I would be able to help her, but I have my own setbacks I'm dealing with and am unable to assist her at this time.

With this request, I view it as a "hand up" because sometimes in life we just need a helping hand, and this is her time.
