Hi friends and family,

I’ve been married to my best friend and love of my life, Elise, for almost 9 years and have been together for 11. We have two beautiful children, Dean and Mikaela. These three are my entire world, and my greatest accomplishment is being a dad and husband. Elise is my best friend and the person who completes me in every way. I never thought our family would be in the situation we’re in. It’s all happening so fast, and it’s beyond scary and overwhelming.

My wife, for a few weeks, was having significant pain, which caused her to go to the doctors. She went in for a physical exam. They found a lump and had her come back this past Thursday for an ultrasound and mammogram. They found 15 tumors in her breast and lymph nodes and had her come back the same day for a biopsy. We officially received the worst news on Monday this week that my wife has breast cancer and it’s spread to her lymph nodes. We went last night to do her CT scan to see if the cancer had spread, and as of this morning, we received the good news that it has not spread past the lymph nodes, which is the best news we’ve heard all week. But her breast coordinator said it looks like stage 3. We will be going in next Monday for the big appointment that will tell us exactly what stage we’re in and what treatment will be. We know from the breast coordinator that she will be doing chemo and radiation along with a double mastectomy, along with breast reconstruction and possibly more chemo after surgery. This journey will be long and hard, but we have faith, and we will be there with her every step of the way. We wanted to tell all of you thank you so much for all of the phone calls and text messages. People offering to cook us meals, clean our home, or help take care of our kids—so many friends and family have been so supportive. It’s been overwhelming but in a good way, and we appreciate it and we need it. All of our friends that we have made through content creation or in the gaming community have come out in droves to show all of their love and support. It’s helped us smile in these dark times. I’m not a very religious man, but I’ve been praying nonstop, and this has been the hardest thing that our family has had to deal with. We have no idea what the future holds and what this journey will entail, but we have had several people reach out to our parents and to us asking if we had a GoFundMe, and we weren’t entirely sure if it would be OK to ask for help, but everyone has been insistent and assured us that it’s OK. It’s definitely not something we’ve ever done, so please, in no way, shape, or form, feel obligated to contribute. But any and all money that’s raised for my wife will go towards things that she needs, whether it’s medical expenses, things around the house that will help her with her recovery and with our children, and any loss of wages to help mitigate any bills or medical expenses that get thrown at us since she won’t be working through the entire treatment. Please do not feel obligated in any way to donate even a penny. Your phone calls and text messages really do help, and I know that money is tight in this day and age, so again, please don’t feel any kind of way if you can’t donate. We appreciate everything that everyone has done for us, and we didn’t truly realize how many people cared until we received hundreds of messages and phone calls, and that’s not an exaggeration. So thank you all for that, and please keep them coming because it helps us keep in high spirits. We love you all, and I promise you we will keep you all updated through this entire process every step of the way.
