Hello, my name is Elena and I am 15 years old. I am hoping that this will reach those that may be able to help our family who has been financially struggling for the past few years. Since the onset of the pandemic, my parents have struggled to earn enough income to cover our expenses, provide for my siblings and me, and fulfill many other needs. Things worsened after my mom lost her job and has had a very difficult time finding another job.

Regrettably, this led to a chain reaction affecting numerous other aspects, including the repossession of her car. We struggle to afford new clothes for any of us and many necessities, especially now that school is about to restart. Transportation remains a constant problem in my family, especially since my dad’s car stopped working and will roughly cost about $3500- $6000 to fix, which in our situation, means it will take a very long time to accomplish that.

We are blessed that my dad works but unfortunately, it’s barely enough to guarantee stability. My siblings and I mean the world to them as much as they do to us and they have made endless sacrifices and have spent every moment trying to make sure that we will never have to go without a meal or to be without a roof over our heads. With bills increasing, it has had a significant impact on our family’s financial state. We have never been the ones to go out to eat just because we want, go on vacations, shop for things we don’t even need or even spend a lot of money on clothes. We’ve begun to consider them as luxuries, for they don’t come as often for us as they used to.

My wish is to find help so my parents may continue to pay bills, keep a roof over me and my siblings heads, fix my dad’s car, make sure we never have to know the feeling of an empty stomach, to keep us clothed, and have the basic necessities. I cannot achieve this without support and I wish to repay my parents from the endless amounts of sacrifices they have made for us. My parents have always been my heroes since the day I was born and I pray that this will help them through these tough times.

Prayers for a new job for my mom, donations, or a simple share for us would be greatly appreciated. Every gift makes a difference.
