Johanna Kahatjipara, a respected 72-year-old oral historian, has spent decades preserving the vital cultural heritage of Namibia's OvaHerero community. Now, Johanna urgently needs your help in a fight against fraud and corruption by a powerful bank.
Without her knowledge, First National Bank (FNB) Namibia fraudulently mortgaged Johanna’s home, using forged documents and unauthorized loans. Johanna now faces the imminent loss of her home, severe financial hardship, and declining health due to stress and intimidation.
Why Your Help Matters:
- Immediate Survival: Johanna risks losing her home, basic necessities like food, and essential medical care.
- Legal Battle: Funds will cover critical legal fees to fight ongoing fraudulent claims.
- Cultural Preservation: Supporting Johanna protects invaluable OvaHerero heritage and oral histories.
Johanna has bravely pursued justice alone for years, exhausting all local remedies. She now faces intimidation and systemic obstacles designed to outlast her financial and physical endurance. Your donation directly strengthens her fight against injustice, ensuring her voice—and the history she preserves—is not silenced.
This campaign was created by me, Tony Beall, a PhD researcher who has had the privilege of working with Johanna over several years during my time in Namibia. She's been an important voice in my research—and a dear friend ever since. I'm organizing this fundraiser personally, to help support her through an incredibly difficult and unjust situation.
If you have any questions or want to know more, I’m always happy to connect.
How You Can Help:
- Donate any amount you can—every dollar counts.
- Share Johanna’s story widely. International attention is crucial for her protection and justice.
Thank you for standing with Johanna in her battle for justice, dignity, and cultural preservation.
